You can configure whether an appointment in your calendar is automatically canceled and removed if the deposit hasn’t been paid by your customer. We distinguish between deposits for online and offline appointments.
ONLINE DEPOSITS
👇
The customer books through your online booking system.
Go to ‘Calendar settings’ in the settings panel (basic).
Go to ‘Online booking’.
Scroll all the way down.
Check the option ‘Automatically cancel the appointment if the online deposit is not paid’ + save.
The customer will immediately be asked to make the payment online. They will have a short time to complete the online payment before the appointment is automatically removed. This time is determined by Mollie. After about 15 minutes, your customer will also receive a reminder email with a link to the payment page.
In this case, Mollie determines the time the customer has:
For Bancontact payments, your customer has 1 hour to pay.
For credit card payments, your customer has 30 minutes to pay.
For PayPal payments, your customer has 3 hours to pay.
For bank transfers, your customer has up to 14 days (!) to pay.
After this period, the appointment will be removed from the calendar.
OFFLINE DEPOSITS
👇
The salon books the appointment for the customer.
Go to ‘Calendar settings’ in the settings panel (basic).
Go to ‘General’.
Check the option ‘Deposits for phone bookings, request payment via email’ + save.
Check the option ‘Automatically cancel the appointment if the offline deposit is not paid’ + save.
Choose the time frame for automatic cancellation (in hours).
When you book an appointment in the calendar, the customer will receive an email (appointment confirmation) after about 15 minutes, asking for a deposit payment.
Once the email is sent, the payment period starts. For example, if you set a 1-hour window, your customer has exactly one hour from the email being sent to pay. After this period, the appointment will automatically be removed from the calendar.
ATTENTION
If the customer clicks on the payment link, they will be immediately redirected to Mollie. Consequently, the time frame will then be determined by Mollie (as with online deposits).
As long as the link is not opened, the time frame is as set.
