Correct registration of working hours and absences

Do you want to make optimal use of the HR module? Do you want to optimize leave planning and handle payroll administration in just a few clicks?

Then all working hours, exceptional working hours and absences need to be registered correctly.

This allows the software to correctly calculate worked hours and overtime, while also taking paid and/or unpaid leave into account.

A public holiday, for example, is not the same as a sick day or another type of absence. If different types overlap, they cannot simply be treated as one continuous absence for administrative purposes.

When an absence period overlaps with a public holiday, the absence is automatically split into two parts:

  • A leave period before the public holiday

  • A leave period after the public holiday

You do not need to enter or request this manually. The software handles this automatically.

The software automatically splits:

  • Exceptional working hours in combination with regular working hours

  • Absences combined with other leave days

Example

  • An employee normally works on Mondays from 10:00 to 12:00

  • The same employee exceptionally works one Monday from 08:00 to 15:00

👉 The exceptional working hours are split into:

  • A period before the standard working hours: 08:00–10:00

  • A period after the standard working hours: 12:00–15:00

❗ The software does NOT automatically split:

  • General absences — these remain one continuous absence period

Exceptional working hours and absences cannot overlap.

Absences may not overlap with exceptional working hours.
