When the ID card reader does not work on the Mac, this is usually due to the settings of the browser. The following steps can be executed for Apple users who use Safari as a web browser:

1. At the top left press Safari
2. Preferences
3. Website
4. Java
5. Press "Alt" on the keyboard and open the "contract-e" menu (see screenshot)
6. Make sure that the checkmark to the left of the text "Run in safe mode" is disabled and therefore no longer visible (as on the screenshot)
