The cash drawer is a secure way to store your cash transactions!
To make the drawer automatically open during a cash payment, you need to connect the cash drawer to a Star TSP ticket printer.
The installation of the cash drawer (in combination with a ticket printer) is quite simple.
You connect the cash drawer to a Star TSP ticket printer.
Then, you connect the ticket printer to your Windows PC.
(The cash drawer only works in combination with Windows).
1. Connecting the Cash Drawer to the Ticket Printer
Connect the cash drawer to the "DK" port of the printer using the cable provided with the drawer and turn on the printer.
2. Connecting the Ticket Printer to the PC
‼️ Note! The drawer is NOT compatible with our Bixolon printers!
New installations require two steps:
2.1. Install the futurePRNT driver.
2.2. Add the printer to Windows.
Make sure the USB cable from the printer is NOT connected to your Windows device until the driver is fully installed.
2.1 Install the Driver
Download the latest version of the futurePRNT driver here.
Click "Download" for the Full or EXE version.
Select "I Agree" and click "Download."
Locate the downloaded ZIP folder (usually in the 'Downloads' folder).
Right-click and select "Extract All..."
Open the extracted folder and find the "Setup" folder.
Open the executable "Setup."
Allow the app to make changes to your device and click "Next."
Select "I Accept" and click "Next."
Select "Typical" and click "Next."
Click "Install."
Once the installation is complete, click "Finish."
2.2 Add the Ticket Printer to Windows
Once the driver is installed, ensure the printer is turned on.
Plug the power cable into the ticket printer and the power outlet.
Insert the USB cable into the printer and the computer (gray cable).
Open the printer by pressing the button on top and placing the paper (paper must come from the bottom of the roll).
Insert the printer paper.
Connect the printer to an available USB port on the computer.
The Plug-and-Play function will automatically add the printer. To print a test page, go to the Windows/Start menu and open Settings.
Click "Bluetooth & devices" and select "Printers & scanners."
Choose the printer from the list.
Select "Test Print."
You have successfully installed the TSP100 Series USB printer on Windows! Now that the driver, printer, and cash drawer are installed, the drawer will automatically open when you process a payment. You can also manually control the drawer if preferred.
